What if I don't feel thankful?

In the midst of a chaotic holiday season or trying circumstances, you might find yourself struggling with thanklessness or despair. One of the many wonderful aspects of the Gospel is that even in the midst of heartache and brokenness, we have so much to be thankful for in Christ, and that our thankfulness can lead us to rejoice and hope though the external world might be crumbling around us.

No matter what your life looks like today, whether it is full of joy or difficulties, take some time to speak truth to your heart. Remind yourself of some of the beautiful promises you have to be thankful for in Jesus. He provides hope when all else may look hopeless and His hope does not disappoint (Romans 5:1-5).

“My soul cleaves to the dust, revive me according to your Word.” Psalm 119:25
