Women for His Glory: Julie Waters

Julie Waters is the founder of Free the Captives, a faith-based anti-human trafficking group that fights the exploitation and trafficking of Houston’s youth. Julie is a bold woman of faith who has fought long and hard against this modern day slavery. Not only does Free the Captives work closely with law enforcement to rescue trafficked teenagers, but they provide services such as mentoring, tutoring, shelter, & material assistance to help restore victims. They've also created job programs to employ victims and provide them with income and life skills. The work they are doing is literally life-changing and so desperately needed in the city of Houston and in our world.

Julie's passion for the Lord and for serving those in need is both beautiful and inspiring. She's a woman of prayer and action. When she saw a problem, she found a way to fight it. In addition to being the executive director and founder of Free the Captives, Julie is also an attorney, entrepreneur, wife, and mother of two (soon to be three). She's dedicated her life to serving, encouraging, and equipping those around her. Julie's faith in the Lord has driven and energized her fight against sex-trafficking. Through Free the Captives, the lives of so many young women are being changed and restored. Julie is an incredible example of Biblical womanhood and what it looks like to rely on the Lord and to be bold and courageous in Him.
